1/14/20 18/100 1971 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
Before finer castings were developed by Hot Wheels or Johnny Lightning this Matchbox version of a 1971 Camaro Z-28 was perfect for its time, and this gold version with black stripes continues that trend. Though a bit large, the details on this casting are perfect from the quad lamps up front, lower bumper split by the large center grille and lower chin spoiler, to the smooth side profile leading to the rear spoiler that wraps around the round rear with quad round taillights and dual exhaust tips. It looks amazing! The base shows off the drivetrain and dual exhaust layout, while the interior lacks dashboard details and the front seats are too far forward. It handles quite well despite lack of working suspension, though it is big and not as crisp as some other Camaro castings. The Camaro still continues today with some updated tooling, though not as much and has not appeared in the regular line for years.
