1/2/20 6/100 Submersible

With the 1-100 line in 1999 Matchbox branched out more than the usual vehicles with boats, planes, and even this submarine.  Submarines like these are more for researching the unknown of the bottom sea floors and the abyss, and this is what this Matchbox version is based on.  The front has a round windshield where two divers can see what’s going on, spotlights below the cab, hoses to vent oxygen into the cabin, two fans on each side to raise, lower, and move the submarine, and a netted rear cover that opens up.  Despite the aquamarine habit this casting still uses wheels to move around; small military wheels that hide behind the side resting legs, and the Matchbox 2000 logo can be found at the back on some versions.  Even more odd is that this is a shared platform casting with, of all things, a Snow Groomer (that’ll be featured later on).
