2/2/20 37/100 Ford Cargo Scissors Truck
When commercial aircraft is being prepared for the next take-off, numerous vehicles and personnel come into play to replenish and check over the aircraft, and one of them is the scissors truck. Think box truck, but with a smaller box that allows room for the hydraulic scissors arms to raise and lower the box so it can reach aircraft doors for loading and unloading. Matchbox used the preexisting casting of the Ford Cargo, formerly used as a skip truck and a cage truck for the Jurassic Park series, to do duty as the scissors truck in 1999. For 2000 it uses the same white and gray colors, but replaces the decals with VetureStar on the box and the X33 spacecraft on the doors. It does have a lot of function with the working box that raises up and down and dual doors that gain access to the cargo area. Sadly this casting never got much use after a few years, though in 2009 Matchbox recreated the scissors truck in the Real Working Rigs line using the GMC T-series platform.
